Questions for local candidates for public office


1. What do you see as the biggest challenges facing our state right now, and how will you deal with them?


2. Which local organizations [social, religious, and community] are you affiliated with and have any of them endorsed your campaign? 


3. Do you favor making it easier to vote, or do you want more restrictions, and why? What specific requirements would you want to add or eliminate?


4. (For Idaho candidates) Do you support the Idaho School Vouchers program that was established in 2025? If this is expanded, will public school funding have to be reduced?


5. Do you think public schools are adequately funded in the state, including pre-K-12 and higher education? Should the state provide 100% of the infrastructure cost or should local communities raise money through bonds?


6. How will you address the growing concerns about affordable housing?


7. (For Idaho candidates) Will you uphold the results of Idaho’s citizen initiative and referendum process? For instance, will you uphold the Medicaid expansion?


8. Do you agree with the 2010 Supreme Court decision on Citizens United? Why or why not?


9. Please provide specific examples of how you work with individuals on the other side of the political divide, including (1) your colleagues in government, and (2) your constituents.
